  • September 2024: Week 37: Watch Kevin Zadai's video for our discussion.

After you watch the video and read the study notes below, answer these questions here on the Fellowship Project Blog Posting link on this page:

1. Read and Discuss Psalms 91:3-6, how this is a binding document of insurance.

“He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse. His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm. You will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you. Don’t fear a thing! Whether by night or by day, demonic danger will not trouble you, nor will the powers of evil launched against you.”

2. Read and Discuss: Psalms 91:9-16. *This is what happens when we make the Most High our dwelling place. Discuss how His word is binding and never comes back void; it always goes forth. (see Isaiah 55:11)

When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us? God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm. If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling. You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet! For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you have delighted in me as my great lover, I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast. You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”

3. Discuss the following idea: We don't base our theology or doctrine on our experience. We base our doctrine on the word of God. If we don't measure up in experience, then it’s not God’s fault. Don't blame God. Go back into the secret place and make the Most High your dwelling place.

4. Discuss the concept of visiting someone versus living with them.

The Secret Place

"The secret place is when you get so close to God that nothing that is evil is going to touch you."
~ Dr. Kevin L. Zadai

After you watch the video and read the study notes on this page, answer these questions here on the Blog mentioned above:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
—Psalms 91

DISCUSSION:
The secret place is the Holy of Holies. When Jesus Christ was crucified, the curtain was torn, giving us full access to the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies was a place that only the High Priest of The Old Testament could go once a year at a specific time. When he went in, he invoked God’s name and presented the blood of a sacrificed animal for the forgiveness of sins at the Ark of the Covenant. The Shekinah glory was present between the Cherubim and the top portion of the Ark of the Covenant. When Jesus died on the cross, He became the sacrifice; His blood was shed, and the veil of the Holy of Holies was ripped, giving us access to the presence of God and His glory. We can go freely into the secret place. You’ll have a compelling passion for dwelling there because of the draw into the Holy of Holies. It’s an anchor for our souls were connected to, pulling us like a rope into the Holy of Holies. Jesus is inviting you into the secret place where you can run and hide under His covering of majesty. You have the same access as the High priest did of the Old Testament. You can go into the secret place and encounter His glorious presence as often as you like. It’s a place where you dwell, abide in the Lord, and live.

o Discuss how you can access and enter into the secret place. Talk about how Jesus’ blood tore the veil.

o If anyone has questions about the secret place and what it is, then clarify before moving further.

BENEFITS OF DWELLING IN THE SECRET PLACE
The first verse in Psalms 91 talks about those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Benefits come to those who dwell there. The Lord asked me to share what I saw of the secret place, and what I saw was that many people did not qualify for the benefits in Psalms 91 because they weren’t dwelling in the secret place. Those who do have angels assigned to them to keep them from falling and being led astray. They will have a thousand fall and ten thousand on their right hand, but it will not come near them. Even though there are diseases and arrows that fly by night, they will not come near them. The Lord said that people need to qualify for these benefits by dwelling in the secret place. Many scholars believe Moses wrote Psalms 91 from his experience of being in the cleft of the rock. Moses was tucked in the secret place, in the crevice of the rock, when God walked by him. God announced his name, revealed Himself, then uncovered Moses' face after He passed by, and Moses got to see Him as He walked by. Moses wrote Psalms 91 based on that experience.

SEEKING GOD IN PRAYER
Jesus would go into a solitary place and pray. He would minister all day, and He would retire at night into the mountains and pray. Something happens when God captures you and wins you over. You long to be with Him. Jesus sought the Father God, and He gave us permission to approach Him because we’re His children. You don’t need to set an appointment. You can come into the secret place unannounced, and we have this open-door access to God through Jesus Christ. If you want to be productive down here and win your battles, then you need to engage with God in the secret place. If you wish to go to heaven and not care about being productive, then your life could be cut short. Peter said that the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If you want to be protected and be fruitful, the secret place is where you want to go and live and dwell. The benefits and promises that God has spoken of in Psalms 91 are binding. Moses knew this, and so did David. David said that the Lord is a strong tower and those who run into Him are safe (see Proverbs 18:10). The secret place is not a place that we visit on occasion, but it’s a place that we dwell in because we abide in the Lord. It’s constant. It’s a relationship that God is looking for with us.

1. Read and Discuss Psalms 91:3-6, how this is a binding document of insurance.

4. Discuss the concept of visiting someone versus living with them.

PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we just fall on your word, Lord. We just judge ourselves, Father. We repent of our unbelief, and we ask for your help. We ask for your mercy. We thank you, Lord. As we move in, we bring our furniture. We move into the secret place right now. And we will continue to live in that holy place, and we will see the benefits of your Word that are listed in Psalms 91. I rebuke sickness. I cast out every evil spirit that's harassing my warrior family, and I break the power of any curse. And I command sickness to leave in Jesus name and that Jesus paid the price with stripes on His back. And by those stripes, we are healed. I thank you for the benefits, the insurance, the angels that are standing guard to make sure that we don't even trip anyway. Thank you. And I cast out every evil spirit in Jesus' name. Thank you for the anointing, Father. Thank you for healing our family right now in the name of Jesus. Amen.
